Sintesi dell'idea progettuale/Project's summary

  In Europe, for centuries, the trade of rural products (fruits, vegetables, handicrafts, typical products), took place inside the city walls. This important tradition has not survived to the boom of manufacturing in the second half of 1900's, when the abandonment of the countryside had made disappear both the trade of many products and the people who attended the markets.
The main aim of this project will be to support the revival of farmers' markets, to be included in typical location, such as villas, squares, etc.
Added value could be the development of transnational cooperation networks between regions with similar territorial characteristics willing to promote their old markets.
 Main objectives of the Project
To increase knowledge of food and wine heritage, craftsmanship tradition and services by spreading the idea that local products are not only a necessity but a medium of the territory.to develop tourism through the creation of a single calendar for all farmers' market and all events which will take place thanks to this project;to improve offer, both for residents and tourists, with the possibility to buy seasonal products and food whose taste's reminds of the ancient rural tradition;to support trade of niche products which can hardly be found recovered in the shelves  of supermarkets.
Proposed activities
 - Retrieve sites to involve in the initiative for the realisation of farmers' market, food, wine and craftsmanship products, which will be part of the promotion;
 - to make interventions concerning structures, buildings and places of particular relevance, e.g. squares which, historically, served as the backdrop of important moments related to the world of rural economy;
 - training and information for economic operators through, e.g., a cycle of seminars, to favour their immediate participation to the activities of the project;
 - to enrich the local touristic offer, also through a single calendar comprising all LAG partners' events;
 - to promote at a national and international level activities such as events focused on the products, the traditions and the peculiarities of the target areas and through participation on traide fairs;
 - to set a network of restaurant owners willing to develop a menu based on traditional dishes.
