The NRN Regional Units provide the link between the central structures of the NRN and the regional institutions involved in the management of the RDP by intercepting requests from the local level and allowing the dissemination of information on opportunities, tools, and how to manage the RDP. They identify the critical points for the implementation of the RDP and direct the activities of NRN towards finding common solutions and better governance.

National study visits for Italian LAGs.
The LEADER Task Force of the National Rural Network promoted an integrated system for sharing experience that combines various communication tools in order to give visibility to some of the best italian LEADER experiences and to share approaches and visions among different territories.

This project, proposed by the Italian NRN, aimed at studying young people current perception of agriculture and life in rural areas.
Addressing to students in their last two years of high school and the first-year of university, the project could rely on the participation of 9 Member States' National Rural Networks: Italy, Netherlands, France, Finland, Belgium (Flemish Network), Poland, Latvia, Sweden (preliminary phase), Malta.
The final version of this questionnaire is the result of cooperation between these MS. The questionnaire was successfully used through social networking tools.

The Italian NRN Task Force on "Good Practices" conducted a census concerning actors, databases, portals, rural development good practices guides and transnational guides.
Within the page on Good Practices, it is possible for users to use a kind of tool simplifying the research for practices which are listed and registered by different actors involving, at the same time, topics related to rural development polices.
The thematic sections include specific pages with a brief description summarizing the related contents linked to the reported sites and the databases listed.
The users have a proactive role using this service: for each topic, indeed, it is possible to provide a snapshot on other sections or sites involving good practices.
This service is constantly updated thanks to users' alerts and also to the Task Force research for a Systematic exchange of information available on the websites.

The activity proposed by the Italian NRN, aimed at achieving a common position of all the EU mediterranean NRNs on 2014-2020 RDP quality measure (art. 17 of Regulation proposal COM 2011 627).
The common paper was based on a specific questionnaire that helped the Mediterranean NRN to involve Managing Authorities and farmers organisations in this consultation process. The common paper proved to be useful during the negotiation process of the 2014-2020 rural development regulation.
The activity was the final output of a Mediterranean Cluster established with the support of the ENRD Contact Point, allowing as well an in-depth exchange on 2007-2013 RDP measures on quality schemes and promotion (measures 132 and 133).

In order to disseminate and consolidate the culture of evaluation it is necessary to improve the quality of evaluations and to raise awareness about the need of carrying out those that better provide useful knowledge for the design and the implementation of development policies.
To spread knowledge and improve the skills of actors directly involved or interested, the Italian National Rural Network has launched E-VALPROG, a free e-learning course on the evaluation of EU rural development policy.
