COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The agritourism, with a network of over 25,000 farms, is confirmed as the most practiced multifunctional activity in Italy and, despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, the market continues to reward it with the number of guests which, already in 2021, is back above the 3 million, for over 12 million overnight stays. The recent success recorded by the agritourism demonstrates that it is a kind of destination that is perfectly in line with many of the values underlying the ecological transition underway.
The widespread distribution of the agritourism network makes it possible to "include" many of the marginal areas in the Italian tourist market and contributes to consolidating Italy's leadership in Europe for the number of accommodation facilities in rural areas (28%).
Rural territories in Italy, like the European Union, have been affected in recent years by a progressive and dramatic demographic depopulation, especially among young people. In the last 10 years, Italian rural areas have recorded the abandonment of 44% of young people between the ages of 15 and 39.
In these areas the "agritourism" families are custodians of local traditions and represent a fundamental element of continuity between the past and the future; in a nutshell, agritourisms are a driving force for the development of the territories, guaranteeing the vitality of the socio-economic fabric, protecting the landscape and preserving the culinary and gastronomic specialities.
In conclusion, agritourism are often the only safeguards of the territory and perform a very important social function, helping to preserve employment and vitality in rural areas.

FUNDED INTERVENTION

The idea of shooting a web minseries on Italian agritourism is linked to the opportunity to communicate with young and dynamic means and methods the peculiarity of a model of rural tourist hospitality of enormous importance for maintaining the vitality of many Italian territories: the agritourism.
For this reason, each of the three episodes of the web series narrates the territories concerned under many aspects: culture, traditions, gastronomic excellences and production techniques connected to the agricultural world.
The result is the promotion of three rural areas that can be seen from an original and authentic point of view starting from the story told by a young digital content creator based on the experiences of three agricultural entrepreneurs.
