Knowledge Transfer & Innovation Gateway

Research, knowledge transfer and innovation are important drivers of rural development and their importance is set to grow as they are at the heart of the Europe 2020 strategy which targets smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Horizon 2020 will be a key tool in implementing the Innovation Union flagship initiative.
During the programming period 2014-2020, Knowledge Transfer & Innovation will become a cross-cutting priority for rural development policy. An important policy instrument to support this priority is the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI). The EIP-AGRI is working to interlink existing policies, foster co-operation among partners and build bridges between researchers and rural businesses.
With this gateway, the ENRD is seeking to support the development of more active links with rural development community members who are engaged or interested in research and innovation - be they innovators, researchers, funders or end-users of research. It provides information ranging from EU bodies which focus on research and innovation projects to relevant studies, publications, etc.
