"Land use: Why do we care about biodiversity?"

This year the 2013 European Biodiversity Conference, hosted by the MEP MATHIEU,will be dedicated to the delicate question of land use and biodiversity.
The focus of the conference will be on the relationship between land use and biodiversity and in particular on how we might address land's capacity to provide for ecosystem services. The European Landowners' Ogranization strongly advocates that private ownership and land stewardship plays a vital role in this process. The management of EU territories is major challenge for future generations and the conference will seek out various ways of addressing the interaction between  different users and uses and the environmental considerations.
