

Starting from the Single European Act on, the European treaties made the Parliament more powerful as far as law-making procedures are concerned, up to the Treaty of Nice, that, through a co-decision procedure, gave the European Parliament the power to adopt legislation jointly with the Council of the European Union. This meeting, held in Rome on december 3, focused on co- decision procedures and the consequences on agriculture, rural development and the related issues, particularly referring to the decision-making procedure as to Community financial statements.
